Boatrocker has long held a place on our shelves, well-earned by their consistently delicious brews, inventive combinations, and well-crafted barrel program.

We jumped at the chance to then be able to collaborate with them, and subsequently headed on over to their barrel room in Braeside a few months back! There, our beer buyer and some staff from the shops tasted through a number of barrels and eventually found the perfect blend for our new Blackhearts-exclusive brew: Wildheart!⁠⠀

Wildheart is a blend of three barrels, the majority (74%) coming from a barrel of their Koelschip ale (100% spontaneous ferment beer) which was then blended with two other barrel-aged sour blonde ales. The final brew is beautifully balanced with a tart acidity, complex flavours, a hint of umami, and an effervescent spritz from bottle-conditioning.⁠⠀

To celebrate the launch, we’re holding two tastings: the first at our Fitzroy North store (Friday 29th Nov, 5.30-7.30pm), and the second at our Brunswick East store (Saturday 30th Nov, 4.30-6.30pm).
